Walk-in Privacy Policy

Effective September 19, 2026

Walk-in finds restaurants near you and places short phone calls on your behalf to ask about walk-in availability. This policy describes what the app handles and why.

What we collect

Location. Your precise location is used to find restaurants and estimate travel times, then discarded. A city-scale approximation may be kept with run history so the run can be understood or repeated. The app also keeps a city-scale approximation on your device for up to 30 days to improve area suggestions.

Search details. Party size, cravings, budget, and any special request you type are used to run your search and phrase the calls.

Call transcripts. The assistant's conversations with restaurants are transcribed so the app can show you what was said and remember outcomes. Calls to businesses are not recorded as audio.

A device identifier. A random identifier created on install tracks your free runs and purchases. It is not your advertising ID and is not used to track you across apps.

Account details. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we keep the account identifier, and name or email if shared, to carry your runs across devices. Signing in is optional.

Usage analytics. We collect pseudonymous product events, such as a run starting or an import finishing, to understand what works. They are not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Apple ad attribution. Walk-in may register its first launch and limited conversion milestones with Apple's privacy-preserving ad attribution system. The milestones indicate an install, a successful restaurant run, or a verified purchase. Walk-in sends Apple only a monotonically increasing conversion value, not an event name, account, device identifier, search, restaurant, transcript, contact information, or purchase details. Apple may send a privacy-protected attribution postback to the participating ad network when Apple's privacy thresholds allow. Walk-in does not use this system for cross-app tracking.

Purchases. Payments are processed entirely by Apple. We verify receipts server side; we never see payment details.

Service providers

Calls are placed through Twilio. Speech and language processing use Deepgram, Cartesia, OpenAI, and Cloudflare services. Restaurant search uses Google Places. Analytics use PostHog. Each provider processes only what the feature requires. Apple provides the aggregate attribution system described above.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data or show ads, and Walk-in does not track people across other companies' apps or websites.

Deletion and contact

You can delete your account and data from the account screen in the app. This ends active runs and erases campaign details, transcripts, quota, referrals, push tokens, and account identifiers. App Store transaction IDs may remain without an account identifier to prevent a purchase from being credited twice. For help, email anshumangirdhar@gmail.com.
